Laten we ons even aan u voorstellen ...
Move your cursor over our photos and we will introduce ourselves to you.
On the 1st of January 2018, Paul and I took over the campsite and the farm from my parents. We are proud to be the seventh generation at the helm. In 2015, we converted both the mixed farm (suckler cows, oxen, sheep and arable crops) and the campsite to organic businesses. We have set ourselves the challenge to become a closed-loop agricultural business as far as possible. Would you like to find out more about closed-loop agriculture? Please ask us about this or about other aspects of our farm during your stay.
I have a passion for organic farming and believe in growing healthy food. Our compost and the manure from our livestock, like the suckler cows and the sheep, help to improve soil health as the organic matter gives the right kind of nutrition to the soil. Our crops, like carrots, onions and green beans, use these nutrients to grow well. This summer our cows will be grazing in the meadow, located to the right of our campsite. I would very much like to tell you about the ins and outs of organic farming. So if you see me, please feel free to ask me your questions.
I am 7 years old. I have already learned quite a lot about the farm and the campsite. When the cows have calved, I always know exactly, which calves belong to which mother cow. Don’t tell anyone, but my mum and dad and my ‘opa’ and ‘oma’ don’t always know this. I also like to help my mum clean up and make the beds, when she is working at the campsite.
I am 5 years old. I like to ride along with my dad on his tractor when he is working. The cows are my best friends. You can often find me and my big sister, Eline, at the campsite or in the courtyard.
About 23 years ago I decided to start the campsite next to our arable farm. About 10 years ago, my husband, Henk, and I moved out of the farmhouse into a new house about 150 meters away from the farm. We created a B&B on the top floor of our house. It has 2 guestrooms, each of them with a private bathroom and with a small kitchen for shared use.
I was born at the farm, just like our daughter, Janine, and I took over the arable farm from my parents. I love working in the fields and I enjoy the outdoor life. If campsite guests are interested in the farm, I will gladly tell them about it.
